Mid Quarter Reports:
The purpose of the mid-quarter report is to inform parents that their student is doing "C" or below work. This report will be mailed to parents midway through the nine-week grading period. This will enable parents to aid the student in their area of need. For some students, a "C" is an acceptable grade, depending upon the student's ability, and the report is sent to praise. For other students, this report is a warning.
Report Cards:
CCCS operates on a nine-week grading system. Report cards will be sent home with the students at the close of each grading period. Kindergarten students will receive progress cards twice during the school year.
If a family's financial responsibilities are not current, the student(s) will not receive a report card. When these responsibilities are brought current, report cards will be issued.
Parent/Teacher Conferences:
In order to promote effective parent/teacher communication, a conference will be scheduled at the conclusion of the first grading period. Parents will schedule to meet with their child's teacher and receive the report card.
Parents are encouraged to request a conference when a need or concern is evident. If the issue is not resolved after a conference is held with the classroom teacher, the parent may request a conference with the administrator.
Testing:
The Otis-Lennon Mental Abilities tests are given to students in the spring of grades 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. There is value in parents and teachers evaluating expectations as they relate to the student's ability.
Each spring, students in all grades are given Stanford standardized tests to evaluate their progress. All test results are available to parents. We encourage all parents to make a special effort to meet with the teacher and/or administrator to review results.
